The challenge

Corporate meeting

Keeping clinical devices available while maintaining security and control

Supporting device lifecycle activities around clinical operations

Devices across wards, theatres and diagnostic areas cannot simply be removed from service for routine maintenance. Patching, break/fix and other lifecycle activities therefore needed to work around clinical activity while maintaining device availability.

The 5,000+ device estate also required accurate asset control across multiple hospital and clinic sites. At the same time, devices handling patient information needed demonstrable security configuration and patch currency, while the Dell and Lenovo fleets required separate imaging, driver and firmware management.

Our approach

A clinically aware DaaS model built around availability and governance

TECEZE integrated device lifecycle management with activity-aware maintenance and information-governance controls, enabling the healthcare estate to remain supported without applying a purely fixed IT maintenance schedule.

The approach included:

Clinically aware maintenance scheduling

Patch deployment and device maintenance were scheduled around clinical activity, helping protect availability across wards, theatres and diagnostic areas.

Information-governance-grade configuration

Standard configuration profiles enforced the required security posture for devices handling patient data, with compliance reporting supporting information governance requirements.

Multi-OEM build management

Separate golden images, driver sets and firmware baselines were maintained for Dell and Lenovo devices while keeping both fleets within one service standard.

Lifecycle-integrated asset accuracy

Asset records were updated automatically at each lifecycle transition, maintaining an accurate 5,000+ device register across the distributed healthcare estate.
